Rachel Hunter, CISSP Ms. Rachel Hunter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of California San Diego (UCSD). Ms. Hunter began working in electronics as an Ocean Systems Technician and Electronic Warfare Technician in the U.S. Navy. After joining the Navy in 1992, she spent time in Norfolk, Va; Argentia; New Foundland; Canada; Pensacola, Florida; and, San Diego, CA. While based in San Diego onboard the USS Benfold, Ms. Hunter operated and maintained electro magnetic sensor equipment as well as numerous collateral duties including, but not limited to, Divisional Safety Petty Officer, Supply Officer, and development of the Intelligence Collection Team. Prior to receiving her degree, Ms. Hunter gained engineering experience working as an engineering intern at both Raytheon and SKF Condition Monitoring (an international company specializing in vibration and acceleration fault analysis). Upon receipt of her BSEE degree, Ms. Hunter worked for Northrop Grumman as a System Engineer designing and developing video processing and distribution systems. As the project lead, her responsibilities included system design, software development, testing, documentation, software project planning, project scheduling, resource management, and project coordination efforts. Ms. Hunter joined Technology Unlimited Group (TUG) when it commenced operations in January 2005. TUG is a company which specializes in the development and acquisition of advanced communications systems for the U.S. Navy including the Navy’s full capability surface terminal. As a System Engineer, Ms. Hunter provides technical input for and analysis of communications systems. She also participated in the oversight and joint development of the Network Tactical Common Data Link (NT-CDL) waveform specification. She also works on Information Assurance design and program requirements for the DoD. Ms. Hunter has written a number of technical analysis position papers and analysis of alternative papers. In 2011, Ms. Hunter was certified by (ISC)2 as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP ®). |
