System / Process Engineer

Technology Unlimited Group (TUG) is seeking an experienced System Engineer / Process Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. 

The successful candidate will provide systems and process engineering support for large-scale, enterprise-wide projects for integration of software applications and connected systems. Activities include development of business processes and documentation, development of various types of process execution artifacts (plans, specifications, schedules, test documentation, trade study analyses, briefings, work instructions, checklists), and updating of existing Application Integration (AI) CONOPS and plans.

Limited domestic travel may be required in support of these duties.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, develop, and document application integration business processes from Concept of Operations to the Work Instruction level
  • Develop process execution artifacts including templates and checklists
  • Review documents, generate briefs, and answer data calls
  • Update existing AI CONOPS including gathering comments and feedback from stakeholders, executing changes, and managing the document review process
  • Liaise with all stakeholders and elicit requirements
  • Coordinate and attend meetings, as necessary

Qualifications:

Current Secret clearance.

Minimum of 7 years system and process engineering experience.

Detailed understanding of DoD and/or Navy organizations (PEOs, PMWs) standard business processes, including systems engineering processes, deliverables, and review gates. 

Candidate must be a critical thinker with a proven ability to analyze complex problems of a diverse scope, providing solutions in an expeditious, efficient and timely manner. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Have a positive track record and ability to work in both an independent fashion as well as in integrated product teams (IPTs).

Possession of a Bachelors degree in a related subject such as computer science, systems engineering, software engineering or physics or mathematics.

Applicable computer skills include Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Microsoft Project, and Visio at an intermediate to advanced level.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Training or experience with Six Sigma processes, IT-21 Interface Processes (PPL/SSIL) and ITIL V3
  • Experience in the development and revision of software development methodologies
  • Use of defined software methodologies that adhere to defined software development processes and documentation (including CM and Quality Assurance/Evaluation), the Spiral Development model, and generation of MIL-STD-like documentation using the IEEE 12207 standard
